Brunei has large assets of oil and natural gas, which almost completely dominate the country’s economy. Brunei is one of the world’s largest producers of liquefied natural gas (LNG).
Along the coast of Brunei there are high-quality silica sand deposits. The sand is extracted and used in the manufacture of glass and fiberglass. Methanol is produced from natural gas.
