There Is Life Beyond CyanogenMod: OmniROM Prepares Its Marshmallow Nightlies

When your mobile phone manufacturer decides that not you want to continue to update the system of your mobile phone, you always have the possibility of installing a ROM to get the latest version of Android, or at least the same version with more features.

Although usually in these cases is to use CyanogenMod for support for a huge number of devices, other ROM as OmniROM also work hard as we saw in the case of Marshmallow in the original Galaxy S.

In this particular case, the unofficial OmniROM Mashmallow was in Alpha stage, but made it clear that OmniROM was preparing for make the leap to MarshMallow. Now we know mobile which will have initial support and some of the functions of these based on Marshmallow nightlies.

These other mobiles will receive their first nightlies soon:

  • Nexus 4
  • Find 7/a
  • OnePlus One

Your phone is not in the list doesn’t mean it will not never receive support for the latest version of OmniROM, but probably still haven’t had time to do this or have not yet found someone able to take responsibility for the terminal.


Many of the known functions from previous versions OmniROM are already integrated and working in the Marshmallow from the ROM version. It is the case of the audio processor, the information of the network traffic in the notification bar or SuperSU options.

These old known, there are some new features as the forecast weather for the notifications, a do not disturb advanced mode and a selector to change to a dark theme.
