HOME-MADE ICE CREAM: RECIPES TO FRESHEN YOUR SUMMER

1. GELADO CASEIRO DE CHOCOLATE

If not can resist a good chocolate icecream, you must try out this recipe from the blog Chocolate the Most.

– Ingredients –

  • 1 bar of dark chocolate
  • 1 c. tablespoon of chocolate powder
  • 1 package of cream
  • 200ml of milk (can use soy milk, if you prefer)
  • 75g of sugar
  • 2 gems

– Mode of preparation –

  1. Start by joining, in a pan, the cream, the sugar and the milk and heat on low heat until start to boil, stirring constantly.
  2. When it comes to the boil, remove from the heat, add the chocolate bar and torn in pieces and stir well until the chocolate melt.
  3. Then, add the egg yolks and stir well until you obtain a homogeneous mixture.
  4. Take the prepared to the refrigerator until it is completely cold.
  5. When it is quite cold place in the ice-cream machine and proceed according to the instructions. If you do not have the machine, just put the ice cream in the freezer to solidify, stirring occasionally, to prevent formation of ice crystals.

 

2. VANILLA ICE CREAM

Is ice cream more simple, but much appreciated among the lovers of this dessert.

– Ingredients –

  • 1 c. tea vanilla powder
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 150 ml milk
  • 100 g of sugar
  • 1 c. tea vanilla essence
  • 200 ml cream to beat
  • 1 c. tablespoon powdered sugar
  • Cinnamon powder q. b. (to decorate)

– Mode of preparation –

  1. Beat the cream with the powdered sugar until firm and reserve in the refrigerator.
  2. Then, mix the egg yolks and sugar and beat with the electric mixer (on medium speed) until you get a creamy mixture.
  3. Then, add the vanilla powder, the milk, the vanilla essence and beat for about two to three minutes, until all ingredients are well incorporated.
  4. Finally, fold in the whipped cream.
  5. Pour the prepared in a bowl/tray and place in the freezer until solid (about six hours or from one day to the other).
  6. When it is the desired consistency, serve decorated with cinnamon powder.

3. ICE CREAM WITH RED FRUIT

This is another of the suggestions on the blog Food From Portugal.

– Ingredients –

  • 400g of berries of red
  • 200 ml cream to beat
  • 1 c. tablespoon sugar to beat the cream
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 200g of sugar
  • 1 c. tablespoon of vanilla essence

– Mode of preparation –

  1. Before you start preparing your ice cream, place the whipped cream in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes. At the end of that time, beat the cream with a tablespoon of sugar until firm and reserve in the refrigerator.
  2. In the meantime, grind in a blender the red fruits and book.
  3. Then, beat (with a mixer) the egg yolks with the sugar.
  4. Then, add the vanilla essence and beat a little more.
  5. Join the red fruits that crunched at the beginning and mix well.
  6. Finally, add the whipped cream and fold in well, without crashing.
  7. Place in a bowl and reserve in the freezer to solidify. Before serving, you can decorate with red fruit.

4. LEMON SORBET

The recipe from the blog Diary of a Dietitian, promises an ice cream, very fresh and little-calorie.

– Ingredients –

  • 100g of lemon
  • 20g of egg whites
  • 125 ml of water
  • 1 stick of cinnamon and sea salt to taste
  • Sweetener q. b.
  • Strawberries (fresh or frozen), to decorate

– Mode of preparation –

  1. Start by grating the peel of the lemon with a grater and squeeze out the juice (taking care to remove the seeds and leftover pulp).
  2. Then, heat a pan with the water, the sweetener and the cinnamon and bring to a boil.
  3. After they start to boil, let it cook for about 10 minutes. At the end of this time, remove and let cool to room temperature.
  4. When it is cold, add the lemon juice and the grated rind. If you want you can also add a little of cinnamon powder. Stir everything well and, when the mixture is homogeneous, put in a bowl and reserve in the freezer.
  5. When prepared to begin to freeze, whisk together the egg whites, beaten until stiff (with a pinch of salt). Stir well and put in the freezer until very cold.
  6. Before serving, garnish the bowls of ice cream with a strawberry.

5. ICE CREAM YOGURT PEACH

Nothing how to take advantage of the fruits of the season to make home-made ice cream.

– Ingredients –

  • 1 bag of peaches frozen or 4 cups fresh peaches (previously frozen)
  • 1 c. of soup, jelly, agave, or honey
  • ½ Cup of natural yoghurt
  • 1 c. tablespoon lemon juice

– Mode of preparation –

  1. Place the peach frozen, jelly, agave, or honey, natural Greek yogurt and lemon juice in a blender and beat well until you obtain a soft cream.
  2. Then place in a bowl and leave in the freezer until solidify.
