The BDP 7500 represents the second Blu-ray generation of its own player development of the Dutch initially also accessing OEM types from distant Asia. The drive keys, which are actually only glowing icons that respond to gentle touch are pleasant on the front. The small sliding door that conceals the USB port is chic intended, but unfortunately something cheaply made. That you can plug just slide and then insert it. Again, a spring closes the socket when not in use. Back is the Philips as the richest equipped, offers a 7.1-channel analog audio output as one Toslink plus RCA digital audio port and in addition to the two-channel stereo.

Taking the BDP 7500 in operation, as falling when the BDP 7300 (test 9/2009) the huge, no, on gigantic menu logos that are still good to see even on very small screens from a maximum distance. On the screen a symbol can reach just one metre diameter. But the graphical design of the symbols is Apple-like subtle and therefore not unpleasant. In addition to the standard settings Philips offers the feature for 21:9 CinemaScope presentation – Philips, also a TV in this format – the subtitle to move that otherwise would be outside of the image. Very professional.

The switching of the audio output formats by “Car” is unusual, but clever-setting that allows you to use all of the Blu-ray disc options less technical clients, because any player internal decoding can be toggled. The scaler produces a plastic, sharp image from DVD and Blu-ray looks fine, just the colors seem here and there just to tired. Its super fast time with a reading which occurred to the Philips Positive test box were: only 7 seconds it creates for DVD and Blu-ray in 16 – that’s a record.
